I often ask myself: Why do I want to take pictures? What urges me most days to go out and wander the streets?
I am not a documentary photographer, I do not tell stories.
I just profoundly enjoy the photographic process. I appreciate being out, in search of visual resonances, balance of shapes, contrasts and colors through my viewfinder.
The subject matter does not matter as much as the visual arrangement which first fires my interest. Humans and objects have equal interest in the building blocks of an image.
I am consistently amazed how different lights or hours of the day drastically change the appearance of a scene giving birth to changing shadows, compositions and as much new possibilities. There is so much to see, so many potential images to be seized.
It is this endless potential for an image that keeps me out there. A wish to catch, immortalize as much as I can.
Most of the images presented were shot in 2021.
