I always felt a strong pull to shoot at dusk, the hour that the French call ”entre chien et loup”. I linger until the natural light shifts to an otherworldly balance with artificial light, when the day parts open the curtains of the theatrical night stage but recently I also started to add images shot in broad daylight.
When I first moved to New York I was definitely attracted by the strong energy that emanates from the city. It felt truly unlike any other place I had known. After many years, however, other layers seem to surface. Beneath all the glittering lights, the high voltage energy of New York, a deep sense of solitude and disconnection emerge from the collection of images that I have gathered.
This contrast is fascinating and fuels my ongoing exploration.
Most of the images presented were shot in 2021.
