Woman in Black

I shot this project for five years, starting from 2013 to 2018. The model was my wife, whom I always dressed up in the same outfit: a black bodysuit, a wide-brimmed hat, dark tights, black shoes or ballet flats. Sometimes a cloak made of black velvet fabric, a wide veil and a cane with a silver knob in a retro style were added to this image. The created image combined a light erotic cabaret style with the image of a wandering mysterious lady who travels not only to different places, but also through time. About the same story happened during the filming. I shot the project not only in different places, but also in different countries, starting with my native Belarus, then in Italy and ending with Poland. It also concerned the location for filming. I wanted to use the entourage of not one era and style, but different ones, starting with medieval ruins and buildings and ending with modern interiors or bridges, as well as using not only vintage accessories but modern products as props. I did not seek to create a glamorous production with spectacular poses of the model, but I also did not give up such luck if it took place. However, I was more interested in the lively behavior of the model and the unusual situation that could arise completely unexpectedly during the shooting process. As a result, after careful selection of the footage, some kind of story should have been formed from the results of the photography, which would not be connected by a common narrative plot, but by some kind of general mood and condition. Perhaps, given the time during which this project was created, the story that turned out may seem short, but I hope that it turned out to be interesting.
