I have been fond of urban exploration and photography all my life. At a young age I discovered the New Topographics movement and I was inspired to continue capturing one of my favorite genres, the urban mundane, the every day scenes that most people walk by without noticing. This past fall of 2023, I returned to Europe and made a tour of many cities where I could also visit friends, and see places mostly new to me. Ten cities in all. I wandered and got lost, looking for scenes that my eye could quickly recognize as "photogenic." Scenes that include a lot of various elements that could be integrated into compositions, both graphically and color wise, both minimal and maximal; often referring to them as clusters.
