In BayanOlgiy, in the western Altai Mountains, about 1.636 km from Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, there are 124.578 Kazakhs, a minority group that accounts for 4% of the total population of Mongolia. They live throughout Mongolia, but about 80% of them live in Bayan-ulgi Aimag. 10% live in the capital, Ulaanbaatar. Here, it has the meaning of Bayan (rich) and Olgiy (cradle).
